Values

Inspired by the many caused reflections by the proximity of the conducted talks a while ago, and influenced by the reading of their most outstanding works, our daily work is to honour them with whose talks have shaped our thoughts into what we are today.

  • Professor Robert Mulligan
  • Professor G.M. Peter Swann
  • Professor Richard Whitley
  • Professor Phil Cooke
  • Professor Bill Fischer
  • Professor Charles H. Fine

Our partners and our networth of collaborators continue to advance the understanding and practice of innovation and growth through their books, and articles, and other stories that break new ground in innovation strategy.

INTEGRITY

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It is also regarded by many people as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one's actions. However, it also means distinguishing right from wrong and doing the right thing. We only make promises we can keep. We take the time to consider our actions and ask whether we can defend them openly today and tomorrow.

FOCUS

There are many non-traditional and conventional consulting methodologies available out there in the market. Consultants like the use of management tools to deliver results to their customers. However, while the problems are mostly the same, the circumstances are always rather different. We start with the perspective that the goal is not simply to apply best practice but to invent it. Each client is unique. That is why at Brodgar & Mulligan we are regularly generating new techniques to be applied upon certain carefully chosen management tools, since there is seldom only one solution.

SIZE

Size is extremely important to us. Since we do not seek to attain economies of scale we engage with our clients on an exclusive partnership relationship that goes far beyond contractual terms.

RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL

We value ideas on their merit, not the tenure or status of their source. We recognise that respect requires both truthfulness and empathy. We encourage constructive criticism and reward performance and contribution consistent with our values. We also both severely penalise disrespect to partner as the fact of wanting to get merits on behalf of another´s effort account.

RIGOUR AND DEDICATION

We bet on the straightforward relationship between size and quality, where respect to individuals is pivotal. We do not believe in the so well cheered networking approach; instead, we follow the NETWORTH approach.

We are not members of any monthly fee subscription network of service providers where value is always at stake. Our NET consists of business professionals we have previously worked with hand by hand.

STRATEGIC PERSPECTIVE YET A PRAGMATIC APPROACH

Objectivity is crucial. Credible data, accurate analyses, external perspectives, root causes, and explicit logic serve as our foundations for objective decision making.

To me, the best example to categorise this strategic perspective yet pragmatic approach is without a doubt the cube of Rubik paradigm. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must consist of one colour. Easy? Well….for most cases, you have to be prepared to make a small spect (one side of the cube) temporarily worse for the sake of the big picture. That is where the first tricky thing happens. This is, we have to be prepared to sacrifice our individual 'ideal' of having our own Little world being safe (all the nine pieces being the same colour) in order to achieve the greater good (all six sides the right colour). Business is the same, before we know it, we have an organisation where people are protecting their own side of the cube even if the rest of the business suffers along the way.

PROPRIETARY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY METHODOLOGIES

We combine non-traditional and conventional approaches that integrate foresight, insight and organizational success factors to drive breakthrough results.

During years of experience and lately assisted by well-known mathematicians and econometricians, members of our NETWORTH have developed a several number of management tools and working techniques. All these input together with the years of working from techniques to formats to systems has led us to the formulation of unique methodologies currently protected by the intellectual property rights.

At present, we license the use of these tools, techniques and methodologies to a limited number of selected management consultancy and advisory firms and always upon receipt an appropriate training course.

REVENUES AND PHILANTHROPY

We work to build a better world by strengthening the ability of government and private organizations and to achieve breakthrough results in addressing society's most crucial challenges and opportunities. We participate in several University scholarships in the UK and in USA. With an annual award we complement the University’s own scholarship programme and provide a real opportunity to students who otherwise might miss the chance of realising their potential. We also contribute with our annual charitable giving to the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins medicine in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States, and to the Department of neurosurgery at the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra.
